I’m sharing a little fun from my day with the network! A week or so back, while helping a potential client with AI insights and upskilling, they asked me an interesting question: “My custom perplexity spaces won’t let me add/replace the files.”

Since we were chatting in real-time, I decided to troubleshoot. After a few attempts from my end, roughly between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastern yesterday, I confirmed they weren’t alone in facing this issue. I decided to access one of my team spaces’ sandboxes and capture a HAR file from one of my team spaces to dig a bit deeper.

I pulled together a summary, which is attached. The key finding? S3 response times were slower, and responding with no content errors, lots of them. Oddly, the perplexity status page showed no issues, but their AWS S3 setup could benefit from fine-tuning.

PowerPoint with more information.
